Pros

Great place to work, I truly enjoyed my colleagues and the connections I was able to make during my time with City Year. Every day you show up, you understand your impact - which is not something you can say at most places.

Cons

Nothing I can think of here, of course pay could always be better.

Pros

The kids? Amazing. I miss them every day. They made it almost worth it. My partner teacher was also super supportive.

Cons

The culture. Nothing was ever allowed to just be a bad situation. Criticism flowed freely without actionable steps toward improvement. The pay was legitimately not City Year's fault, it's an Americorps position paid via government stipend, but that shouldn't be poverty wages. I was depressed the entire year.
