Pros

flexible schedule, decent salary, benefits

Cons

Even though there are several different departments across several locations, looks like the company culture is the same across the board based on the previous reviews. The lower level managers are not very intelligent people and they suck. Its true that they are like the dumb jock in high school who finally got their calling. Its true that they hire young, god bless them cause I was hired in my early 20's, but there are kids right outta college w/ no experience or even training for that matter that boss you around. You will never advance in this company unless you are submissive or flat out stupid cause these kinds of people are used as puppets. The upper management hates out of the box thinkers or smart people cause they will try and do things smarter which are not part of the system. A lot of he said she said goes around "accountability" as they call it, but really its just a blame game among the least solution-oriented people in the world. Be careful interns cause they prey on people like you. Its also true that the weak links are carried by the strong and the worst employees will fire themselves. I toughed out my time here cause I made a decent salary and knew I could get a better job within time, but I hope no one has to put up w/ some of the things that I did.

Pros

Positive takeaways can always be gained from negative experiences. I learned a lot of what NOT to do, how NOT to run a business operation and how NOT to manage subordinates. This knowledge will help me in my future endeavors and for that I am thankful.

Cons

This company does not put a high value on its employees. There is also little to no room for growth. Management is often young and inexperienced. The managerial philosophy is also toxic and you will be fully expected to drink the kool aid. Management claims they want to avoid the classic business pitfall of “this is how we’ve always done things”. But actions speak louder than words, as they perpetually avoid innovation and new ideas for much needed change. For instance, they use a computer system that was created in the 1980s. It is not at all user friendly and is full of bugs. The new computer system has been under development for many years. It is taking much longer than anticipated, because all of the developers keep leaving the company and finding employment elsewhere. Shocking, right? If this doesn’t sound like the kind of environment you want to work in, I strongly advise finding a job somewhere else.

We're sorry to hear that you left feeling like the company didn't value employees, there was little room for growth, and that the company avoided innovation. As the leading e-commerce distributor in our industry, we wouldn't be where we are today without taking care of employees, fostering their growth, and championing innovative ideas. Our culture is built on these elements so to hear that you didn't see them is surprising and not the feedback we typically hear.

Pros

Pay is great, dogs always in the office, gym, ways to get involved, birthday lunch was fun

Cons

No HR department, my manager always made me feel like I was wasting their time when I went to them with concerns and issues, which lead to lack of communication, felt like a servant with some of the tasks I was asked to do, analysts/assistant buyers/purchasing assistants all do the same thing, constant worry of being 'dehired', no chance of advancement due to my DiSC profile (not a high D), was put under someone who had no experience and there were no meetings to assess their performance or talk about issues that should have been addressed. It took me leaving the company to realize how poorly analysts, assistant buyers, and purchasing assistants are all treated. I have heard the phrase 'good morning' more in the first week at my new job then I had heard at my ENTIRE year-and-a-half at Clark. When I first started, nobody made me feel welcome, and I witnessed many managers treat their assistants very poorly. Higher-ups insist that they do not micromanage but it's all they do (which is fine, just don't claim to not do it). I was told to not bother sending a 'thank you' email because it is a waste of time and space. Higher-ups pick 'favorites' and those are the ones who make it. Priorities would CONSTANTLY change and I would be left out of the loop, so I would be working on things that didn't need my attention. Can't begin to explain how many projects I had to update because my manager would ask for them by a certain date and then not look at it until weeks after that date.
