Pros

The Buyer position at Clark Associates has plenty to offer with regards to learning the procurement/purchasing industry. This is a young work environment that is not afraid to give out responsibility while training you to take on a new field or category. Be ready for a fast paced workplace that will benefit you if you are a hard worker and have some tough skin. Also, the hours are pretty flexible. As long as you put in your 40 hours weekly and are managing your projects well, then you should be good to go. Pays well for such a young group of employees.

Cons

Learning their computer/procurement system can be a challenge at first that will set back some new-hires. If you can master this and ask plenty of questions then the position will offer you many options. The training is good as your boss or fellow employees will walk you through certain processes, but it can also be sink or swim a lot of the time. Lastly, the leave time for new-hires is lacking slightly, but I believe this is being revamped.

Pros

flexible schedule, decent salary, benefits

Cons

Even though there are several different departments across several locations, looks like the company culture is the same across the board based on the previous reviews. The lower level managers are not very intelligent people and they suck. Its true that they are like the dumb jock in high school who finally got their calling. Its true that they hire young, god bless them cause I was hired in my early 20's, but there are kids right outta college w/ no experience or even training for that matter that boss you around. You will never advance in this company unless you are submissive or flat out stupid cause these kinds of people are used as puppets. The upper management hates out of the box thinkers or smart people cause they will try and do things smarter which are not part of the system. A lot of he said she said goes around "accountability" as they call it, but really its just a blame game among the least solution-oriented people in the world. Be careful interns cause they prey on people like you. Its also true that the weak links are carried by the strong and the worst employees will fire themselves. I toughed out my time here cause I made a decent salary and knew I could get a better job within time, but I hope no one has to put up w/ some of the things that I did.
