Pros

The company admits openly that it isn't perfect, puts employees in the position of great authority with the needed backing to succeed, and demands the individual best from each employee. They find a way to make sure you're giving your real best, or to push you to do better - some can't handle that. There is plenty of important work to go around, with fantastic benefits.

Cons

Recent turnover leaves the impression that there are broader cultural issues at Clark that really don't exist - people jump ship for the same reasons as always - more money for less work at other companies! Clark thrives off decent pay for excellent work, and offers great benefits, the promise of development, and career longevity. There is a great push to bring on diversity, but inclusion is still lacking. The company needs collegiality and inclusion training to update its culture. It's a 117-year old company with many personalities from the past still. Overall, leadership is up to the times and recognizes the need for things to change, but can be slow in pushing change.

Pros

Plenty of opportunities throughout the company to gain experience in the field and learn about the construction business.

Cons

Poor management/manager development. Not enough is done at a company wide level to develop managers that keep their subordinates engaged. This contributes to a sink-or-swim culture and high turnover. More concern is given on “getting the job done” than employees professional development.
