High Work Demand, Little to No Reward
Pros
Clark has its hand in many facets of construction management including both new construction and renovation of federal, retail, hotel, educational, residential, museums, public transit and rail work. Exposure to all of this work within one company has been a tremendous learning experience and benefits your career greatly.
Cons
The work culture at Clark is unbearable. 60-80 hour work weeks are "normal" and working less is almost frowned upon by all middle management and exec level. No compensation is ever given for the extra hours worked, or going above and beyond time and time again. Expectations are always set above anyone's ability to comfortably achieve in a reasonable time frame. Even when you achieve great things, "thank you" or "great job" is a rarity to hear. In summary, a LOT of demand, for little verbal or monetary appreciation.
