A good learning experience

Pros

Clark University and the mentorship program. The best place for a new grad to work and learn in the construction industry. They give you enough responsibility to feel challenged and encourages team work.

Cons

If you are located on site be ready for long hours. A lot of office politics in the head office. They wouldn't hesitate letting you go if they don't see any growth potential in you.

Pros

Incredibly hard workers, tons of responsibility, opportunity to build some of the most impressive and complex construction projects in the world!

Cons

Long work hours, field offices are not exactly the best work enviroments (unless you really like getting dirty), not the best pay.

Good company

Pros

They're the largest GC in the DC area and build the largest and most interesting projects around. You can get exposure to a lot of different aspects of the business if you make an attempt to learn. Good job security...only 1 round of big layoffs since the recession, others have been here and there.

Cons

Compared to other companies, fairly weak pay and bonus packages. Bonuses are tied to jobs, and some won't reach you for 2-3 years. If you have a good boss they will take care of you at the main office. Many youngsters with 3-5 years in leave for more money and responsibility. Also a very top heavy company, to many meetings with 5 VP's who all have great ideas but depend on the guys at the lower ends of the food chain to do the work.....takes away some of the development opportunities for young managers to take the lead. The 10 days/year of vacation for the first 5 years is weak.
