ClassPass is a ticking time bomb

Pros

- ClassPass is a sexy fitness startup that still seems to have investors eating out of the palm of its hand, so it's an exciting time to be there. - Benefits include an essentially unlimited ClassPass membership, which means you can work out / take advantage of wellness perks for free. - The people are passionate, dedicated, and incredibly hard working. Some of my best friends and mentors to this day are people I met during my tenure at ClassPass. - Career experience is unlike any other. By the time I left I felt like I'd worked for 10 years and gotten an MBA.

Cons

- Studio partners hate ClassPass. Partner Devs are given unrealistic goals and pushed to the limit to sell to studios, who are misled about the product and brought on board with unrealistic expectations. Account managers have the most difficult job at the company. - Internally, all power has been consolidated under three men. Smart, admirable women who had been role models to so many have all been driven out and the "female-founded" tag has become meaningless. - There is no growth opportunity unless you are one of the chosen few favorited by leadership. Hard work, leadership, and dedication are not rewarded, and employees generally are not valued by management. - The company culture that once made ClassPass a great place to work disappeared with the incredible people who built the company and bowed out in the last two years. - Compensation is laughable.

Pros

You can work out for free, on a flexible basis

Cons

- zero growth - poor management - the scrappiness of a start up allows little room for you to say anything but just do as told. - the pay and commission structure is a bit ridiculous. - the sales team is more of call center than a strategic base for the company.

Pros

- Free ClassPass membership - wear workout clothes to work

Cons

Honestly, I would not recommend this company to anyone. I met a lot of great people but my role was a joke. They are rapidly expanding in Montana which is the new call center for sales and there is no strategic approach. The commission structure is actually absurd. In my department, so many managers and teammates have quit during my tenure so that is a huge red flag. The opportunity for growth is limited, they will tell you the there is so much potential but there really was not. Again, there was some great people but I cannot tell you the amount of times walking in the hallways and exchanging a smile or a hello and people do nothing! The company is growing rapidly especially in international expansion but there is a lot on the home front that needs to be taken care of first.
