Pros

It’s a design build company so the offices are nice and they don’t cheap out on equipment or decor. Some of the construction projects are really cool so it’s fun to be associated with that. Lots of company events and great Christmas parties.

Cons

Don’t even think about coming here to work in IT. No one wants to, not the people currently here and no one interviewing. CIO always says she’s “been left at the altar many times,” and that we can’t attract or retain top talent. We used to be able to recruit until she got here and chased everyone away. She’s the least pleasant person I’ve ever worked with, and I’ve worked in some nightmare situations. Thanks for scaring off the full time talent and replacing them with consultants because no one wants to be here full time. There is no future for anyone in IT under this tyrant. I’m leaving the second I have an offer, and I can’t wait to dump this department and never look back. My health can’t handle any more.

A lot of positive things are happening at Clayco and it's unfortunate to hear that you’re not willing to remain supportive of our collective efforts. Our team works very hard to support every member of our family. But, we certainly appreciate your comments. Change is tough, and we are committed to supporting everyone through the growth as we build a new structure that brings a rewarding and valued career to all Clayco employees. We’re glad you have been able to see from your experience here what is needed to bring you what you need from a career at Clayco or beyond.”

Pros

The compensation is competitive, the health insurance is good with no price increases in years, there's a solid retirement plan, a gym with a trainer, free massages and free food. There are plenty of good and hardworking people here.

Cons

Clayco lacks structure and processes, but I usually like that because there's plenty of opportunity to shine by making process improvements as the company grows and gets more chaotic. Unfortunately for me I'm in IT so I'm here to be a "yes person" and my opinion doesn't matter. The CIO makes it clear that we're here to follow orders, punch a clock, keep quiet and don't make her look bad if you want to keep your job. She's very polite in front of who she calls VIPs which is basically anyone not in IT but is 2 faced and cold and cruel to us in private. I liked her at first until I realized she just manipulates people and then discards them when she gets what she wants. It's so depressing and emotionally damaging. If you're not already one of her cronies you won't advance and your job isn't safe but her job is safe forever because she has political connections. Morale is lower than ever.
