      Pros

      Throughout the continuous growth of Clayco, we've maintained a small company feel. With all the entities under one roof, you are able to connect with colleagues you may be isolated from in other settings. You are trusted and expected to do your job without a lot of hand holding, but are never made to feel like you can’t approach managers/mentors for guidance. If you’re looking for a challenging role and enjoy a fast paced environment, Clayco is the perfect place.

      Cons

      The open concept is fun, but can be somewhat distracting. There's always amazing food, so you're guaranteed to gain 10 pounds in your first year.

Our people are our most valuable assets so, making sure we all are able to discuss important matters with management is of highest priority. Good thing we have an on site fitness center to offset having lots food around here.

      IT Could Use Some Help

      Great Benefits. Friendly peers. Nice offices. Philanthropic company owner.

      Cons

      Women in IT are underpaid unless they're in an upper management position. Most of the company doesn't care about IT, or they're not educated enough about IT to understand its function, so they think it's all "Help Desk." Management won't question/challenge anyone outside IT, or protect/defend anyone but themselves inside IT. Working from home is not allowed. Noisy and distracting open floor plan. Constant "manage by crisis" chaos. Backstabbing management that definitely plays favorites. Certain "leaders" in IT complain about their own team to upper management, instead of talking directly to team members about it. Can't trust management for fear of being fired if you even ask questions or want to discuss any concerns at all. The CIO fires people for disagreeing with her. Highest turnover I've ever seen in an IT department.

      Great Place to Work

      Pros

      The people and the environment created by the multiple business units here at Clayco provides an amazing and challenging place to work. Challenging projects and many opportunities to grow create a great work setting.

      Cons

      There is a considerable amount of travel and relocation, depending on your role in the company. That's not necessarily a downside for me, but it could be for someone else.
