Pros

a huge shout out to this best in class organization. Clean Harbors hired me not long out of college when the company was just coming out of infancy. during my 30 year career (minus 10 yrs. finding out the grass was no greener at 3 competitors) they welcomed me back with no hard feelings). first off I was not allowed to perform a single duty until I was fully trained to do so. being an ignorant/cocky young man that was admittedly wreckless and loved to take calculated risks It was made clear to me that this attitude would not fly in this inherently dangerous field. safety is in the company's DNA and thankfully is now in mine. many of my co workers used to say that this was window dressing in order to gain favor with clients that demanded it or to appease wall street. I called BS and pointed out many actions proving the opposite. notably the time a key employee on a large bid for a key prospect (un named fortune 500 company) made a relatively minor safety infraction while setting up this first job and was immediately suspended, effectively putting the important job/new client at risk. after providing good income and giving me the ability to start and raise a family that wanted for nothing, forward 30 years I sustained a non work related life threatening injury, the disability insurance that the company had the foresight to carry for all employees kept my family from financial ruin. then I find out they had been paying half the premium the whole time. bottom line is the company had my back through the toughest time I had ever been through with no potential gain for the company. oh yeah, in my second year, still an impressionable young man I found myself cleaning up an oil spill on the Piscataqua river in Portsmouth,NH. dirty, sweaty, salty, miserable work. the CEO (Alan McKim) shows up. even though I am a newbie, peion at a company w/ 5K employees he addresses me by my first name, dawns protective gear and starts cleaning up muck along side me. are you kidding me I thought? then I though this is the kinda guy I wanna be someday.

Cons

N/A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have seen the other side. if you must work for a living and want your care for the planet to be reflected in that there can be only one.
