Pros

Working with young people my age, primarily in the "young college student" age range. Usually working with really passionate people who got into canvassing because they genuinely care about the cause. I made friends, and we did a lot of social activities together.

Cons

Asking for money door to door is not an easy job, even if you *are* also educating the public about environmental issues. Some people get really into canvassing though and they genuinely want to be a canvasser and work their way up the company and even travel to canvass around the country...but be warned that you either love it and want to move up and stay there for awhile or you hate it and want out as soon as possible.

Pros

-awesome community engagement and meeting nice people -Making a difference and feeling proud of the work your canvass crew creates -Passionate work environment with an inclusive atmosphere -Cool coworkers who are extremely passionate -Working downtown -Exercise from the job -Earning bonus -if you're not a morning person this job will work well

Cons

-lack of job security due to having to be let off if you miss quota a certain amount of times -having to earn quota every night to earn the highest wages -if you don't want to canvass your whole life it's hard to move up into further positions -getting put in difficult neighborhoods and still being expected to make quota -since wage is dependent on biweekly performances it is difficult to estimate salary over time -working until 10pm can be rough

Pros

A lot of good customer service experience, face to face contact with people, good exercise. Experience coordinating houses to go beg at.

Cons

I myself was told this was a base pay position, obviously it’s not. You are literally going around to houses begging for money, and a good percentage of that earned begging money goes into your pocket. If you enjoy ripping people off I would suggest this Job.
