Pros

No pros for treatment of its physicians

Cons

Think twice before accepting a job offer. Cleveland Clinic does not stand by its physicians and support them, especially at times when there is a conflict between the physicians and the patients. They leave the physician totally alone and by himself. They have not increased the salaries and adjusted it based on inflation, despite a huge climbing inflation rate. Work environment is hostile, non-physician staff is being used to monitor physicians with their limited medical knowledge. There is a lot of bad-mouthing and talking behind your back and relaying false information to your supervisor through non-physician staff. It was the biggest mistake of my life to accept a job offer there. I do not recommend the Clinic for any physician who is looking for a physician-friendly work environment. They only care for their name, they do not care for their physician, especially if that physician is from a minority group.

Pros

They have great benefits. Great opportunities for nurses, doctors, clinical professionals. Not so much for administrative.

Cons

It is very frustrating to be hired for a position and you are not trained for the responsibilities of this role. Management is dismissive and lack knowledge of their roles. I've had to tell my manager how to manage as I am older than her and I am the first person she has supervised. We pay to park. The idea of advancement is reserved for those that know someone not what they know.

Pros

Co workers including MDs , EVS, etc

Cons

Management makes it really difficult for employees to do best for patients. They leave us so short handed and the documentation for something as simple as getting consent can take 45 mins, simple lab work as well. They set us up for failure and it’s no wonder the patients are fed up. I can’t apologize to them enough and it is out of my control. Administration needs to either be a patient themselves or shadow the staff to believe these time consuming detours the staff must go through just to get a simple task completed. It’s insanity. I work alongside skilled professionals and we are great providers to our patients however the documentation they expect from us and the volume of patients they expect us to care for makes it nearly impossible to do “they best we can” We are losing smart and experienced caregivers daily due to the workload and what administration expects we can handle. They don’t expect us to take breaks either, I can’t give my assignment to another caregiver for even 10 minutes because they have an equally hard assignment. We also get reprimanded if we don’t take a break. You just can’t win.
