Pros

-Excellent management across most units -Incredible team-based learning and work environment -401k, and 3% company match -Regular bonuses for picking up on some shifts -Excellent union at Akron General location

Cons

The company states they are dedicated to diversity and the comfort of all caregivers. I can comfortably say this is not true. Regular homophobia and transphobia towards coworkers goes unpunished. Nursing supervisors have lied to LGBT staff about who is head of diversity and inclusion. I have transgender coworkers who are forced to wear their deadname on their nametag. Multiple cisgender coworkers are not required to do this. Additionally, some units promote an environment where work ethic comes second to comfort. This is really a product of groupthink, so if you're a hard worker people will notice and step up their game as well, but it can very frustrating. Lastly, the pay is frustratingly pitiful for what the work is. Techs work very hard, and many of us struggle to put food on the table. If you're a fresh college graduate, this job will not let you move out of your parents' place. It will, however, give you healthcare experience. Just don't think the company values you enough to pay you what you're worth.

Pros

Good benefits, Great PTO and amazing coworkers

Cons

Management provides little to no communication to their employees. They will call and make you log in during your PTO or Day off to complete surveys for management to look better (it’s all for their benefit). Trainings will be scheduled without notice. HR is almost not existent. Management is rude, unprofessional and demeaning (Emergency Departments). No room for professional advancement. Company will spam email with notes from CEO and others above in Ohio while local management mistreats their employees (out of touch with reality). Note: This is mainly for Florida employees.

Pros

It’s a great place to learn your skills, test out your degree, and build a resume.

Cons

People in the research department are very judgmental. I got constructive feedback as an intern, which of course was helpful. However, when I asked for help on how to get rehired and to look over my resume, they said that people at my university aren’t known for being the best applicant and that they only hire people from Case or U of M. It made me very confused for the longest time because I couldn’t afford to go to either of those universities. In the research facilities, they are non-diverse. They say that they have a lot of people from a lot of places working there, but it is mostly white or Asian. I didn’t see many any other people from different economic backgrounds besides privileged in positions of power either (running the research labs). This affects the ability to come up with different scientific research ideas and problem solving techniques! Parking as an intern stinks at the main campus. Parking as a full time employee at the main campus is expensive (you have to pay). As an intern, you get no benefits.
