      Pros

      I had the ability to implement ideas and supervise a small team. I gained business development experience and attended industry conferences. I was able to attend any training seminars within the university that I desired. The health care, retirement and vacation benefits are generous. The compensation was low for higher education.

      Cons

      Mid-level employees and managers are required to join a union. The union and HR make it difficult for high-performers to be promoted. Many unproductive employees are able to stay in their positions without repercussions.

      Pros

      I liked the informal atmosphere. I was able to work around my class schedule. It also allowed me to get out of the office once in a while.

      Cons

      A major con would be the salary. I understand that as a student you can't expect much more than minimum wage, but there should have been opportunities to bump it up.
