Pros
The snacks? The technology is interesting. Clinc predates the AI trend so it has a product other than hype.
Cons
The product requires a huge effort from customers compared to the utility it provides. I can't imagine a business adopting it unless they're big enough to just build a better version themselves. I was around for the drama with the former CEO Jason Mars (Google "clinc the verge" for a fun read). As all that was getting settled leadership realized we hadn't met the insane growth goals Mars had promised, and I was among the group laid off right when COVID was looking like a worldwide emergency. Since then I have gotten in at a significantly better company and grown into my role, as opposed to being scrutinized and judged at every turn. I'm glad that my experience at Clinc is now far enough in the past to be a wild story I can tell my team to illustrate all the worst ways to make software.
