Pros

-- Solving important problems in a very exciting space. Clinc is focusing on solving the most important problems existing today in conversational AI. The company is dedicated to take the state-of-the-art AI technology beyond just fancy tools for people with advanced degrees and find a way to efficiently leverage these techs to help with the problems in people's every day life. IMO this is a super exciting problem to be working on and this is the right time to work on it, too. -- Fast-growing with impressive track record. The company has been very successful in the almost 4 years it has been around. Started in the personal finance domain, the company has been working with a number of top banks around the globe and already has several production deployment that is serving millions of users today. The company is now venturing into other verticals, including health care, automotive, gaming, etc. This is a testament to the company mission of leveraging AI to reduce the complexity of people's lives. The company has also been very successful and effective in securing investment, recently finishing a 52million series B round with top VC firms including Insights and DFJ. There are things to improve for sure but I think the leadership team has done a fantastic job so far in securing these deals and investments and leading the company to this scale which is pretty rare for start-up at this stage. With this new investment, I am super excited for the next stage of this company. -- Collaborative environment with lots of opportunity for personal growth People from different departments and teams all work closely with each other without much barrier. There are plenty of opportunities for an individual to take risks and grow. The company is also very open and encouraging for its employees to try out different positions and teams. There have been multiple examples of people successfully transitioning between engineering, project management and product roles, as well as switching teams within the same department. So overall a very good and encouraging environment for motivated individual to learn and grow with a diverse skill sets. -- Talented and capable people with drive and motivation I am surrounded by people that are talented and extremely motivated. I constantly learn from my managers and my co-workers in many aspects. I feel very comfortable taking risks and going to my manager and the leadership team to ask for advice and feedbacks. There is generally a high bar of quality expected out of your work and direct criticism coming with that expectation, which some may view as a bad thing but I and many others see it as the catalyst to constantly pushing myself to the next level. It is challenging no doubt but at the end I often feel completely exhilarated and rewarding after I am able to tackle a challenge and put another accomplishment and/or skills under my belt. -- Visible contribution to the company's success Your work are often very visible and directly contributing to the company's growth and success. This definitely puts some additional pressure on the work itself, but it just makes the accomplishment much more rewarding. Nothing beats the feeling when seeing your code/feature/documents/whatever being delivered to the customers and then hearing about how much impact it has made on company's relationship with the customer. -- Flexible work environment It doesn't really matter what hours you work or where your work. You could be working from noon to 9pm at home, as long as you deliver. -- Diversity The company's employees are super diverse in terms of race, ethnicity and gender.

Cons

-- Similarly in any fast-growing start ups, things can get a bit overwhelming at times. That's usually when people from different teams and departments come together and solve critical problems together. -- Communication could be improved in certain aspects. Sometimes there is not enough communication and other times there may be too much. This is something I think the leadership and the management is actively improving on and it is getting better. -- The current office space is not great. The seating is dense and conference rooms are scarce.
