Pros

- Really nice people. Awesome culture. - Upper mgmt responsive to org problems. Also responsive to issues like catching up on tech debt. - Lot of growth. Lot of potential for career growth. Used to be very flat, but that is changing out of necessity. - Tons of perks and great benefits. - Exciting work since so many things are changing and improving - Most of the pros of a startup, but with the financial backing and stability of a blue-chip - My great rating is not a mindless plug. Really is the best company in my 20+ years as a SW Eng in the Silicon Valley. Beware 1-star people who are bitter over a specific personal issue.

Cons

- Growing pains transitioning from "start-up" to a mid-sized company. Growing in areas of ownership, SLAs, policy, procedures, standard services and all that boring stuff that is absolutely required to prevent chaos in a company larger then a startup. - Some of the managers are on the less-experienced side compared to the standards of larger companies. - Need tech updates in ops and such. Another growing pain. Most tech/services/HW are sub-par or are not standardized across teams. But it is a known issue that is getting attention. - All organizations are made of people, and people are people. If you can't handle "off-people", you should be a contractor who works from home.

Pros

- Most people are really fun to be around. Lots of social stuff. - Lots of interesting things to work on (Back-end, front-end, kernel, apps) - Lots of freedom to horse around.

Cons

- Terrible at testing products. - Ops dept is lazy, refuses to share knowledge, and aren't very good at their job. - Engineering practices of new-grads. No learning from other's experience. No understanding of system-building.
