Pros

part time benefits safe working environment

Cons

absolutely plutocratic ,autocratic ,micromanaging work environment. These folks lull you into a sense of a friendly happy workplace. then after hire , drive you crazy with constantly negative feedback, and there is absolutely no way they are ever wrong. This contributes to a dog eat dog environment. I was one of the top 5 producers, and not only did I not get the hours stated in the interview, they constantly nitpicked about everything. these are handbags for pete's sake, and no one is asking them to lower their standards, but a bit of example setting, and a less adversarial attitude would help.I have many years of retail sales experience, and I have rarely encountered a more hostile workplace. Pros

Reasonable pay, was basically offered what I asked for.

Cons

I have never encountered such awful, petty people in my life. As a new hire to the company, I was never given a proper chance to excel. I was given a poor on boarding, over 7 days, and then was expected to assume a well seasoned management role. I understand that a lot of learning comes from experience, but to have every single misstep documented is not the correct way to teach someone. In my interview, I was told that I would be leading with a team of managers who fostered positive, family environment. This couldn't be further from the truth. Everyone, other managers included, simply looks out for themselves. One of the perks I was told about was a work/life balance. No such thing exists. I understand that it's retail, and I know you have to schedule for the business, but there is no reason that I should be at work until 10pm every Friday and Saturday of the month when there is a team of 5 managers. The store manager bullies all of the associates and the managers, she . And the district manager? She says she is available for anything we may need, however, simply ignores emails.

Pros

Has 400+ stores and has global recognition; Great Discount, and good benefits; looks good on your resume; gain a lot of product knowledge and clientele experience

Cons

very structured-almost to the point that you feel like a number; only as favored as your last accomplishment; mid-to-senior management is not inspirational and are always looking for the negative without peppering in some praise.
