Pros

It's rare to find a company with more opportunities for personal and professional growth than you will find at Coalfire. Taking initiative and being focused on results can lead to unparalleled career growth. Coalfire's leadership truly cares about the wellbeing of its employees and strives to prevent burnout and attrition. Consulting is not always the easiest job to be a part of, but leadership truly cares about making sure that its employees are happy, healthy, and productive. The commitment to diversity and inclusion from the executive leadership team is a direct testament to ensuring that all people are treated fairly and equally, and have opportunities for advancement within the company. Leadership makes themselves open and available to answer questions, work through challenging problems, and provide support to their employees. We can move very quickly, which results in taking risks and sometimes those risks don't always pay off. When this happens, leadership is always available to help work through a solution and support their team, rather than reprimand and punish. By far, the best part about working at Coalfire is the people. I could not ask for a better group of peers to work with. Everyone is available to support each other and build each other up, rather than a typical cutthroat environment where the people only care about their career and development.

Cons

While not necessarily a con, Coalfire is growing extremely quickly, and that comes with a lot of change. If you aren't comfortable with change, this high growth environment could lead to frustration. The inverse of this is that hungry, go-getters will find opportunity within transitions to step up and help tackle difficult problems. Unlimited PTO is not truly unlimited due to billable hour requirements. It's also difficult to understand bonus metrics, as those are not clearly defined or easily tracked. Busy season can be very difficult to manage unless you are diligent with your schedule.

Pros

- great culture, trust, empowerment, respect, meaningful work, great benefits, unlimited PTO, match on 401k, dog insurance :)

Cons

- some of the work we do deals with lots of complexity when software engineering and compliance controls and customer needs. The work can be tough but our teams are great at collaborating.

Pros

I have freedom and autonomy to work when and where I want as long as I produce quality work in a timely manner. When I do come to the office there are no politics. The company has a very team-oriented mindset and everyone generally works together to finish projects.

Cons

The health benefits aren't that good. They're good, but not that good. ER visits $600 :/
