Pros

One of the biggest things I have grown to love about Coalfire is that the employees here are people first and then coworkers. I have been working for a couple months now and everyone has brought me in well and the company has treated me extremely well. Since it is a relatively small company it does not have the feel of a big corporation but it absolutely has the benefits. Another great thing is working remote. If I get my work done there is no issue with me working remote but most people want to come in to be with their coworkers since the atmosphere is so great. Another great thing is Coalfire is the best in the business for what we do. We recruit the best but also the people who are aligned with the company culture and mission. Since I am still fresh with the company I have a lot of time to continue to see what Coalfire is like but my initial experience has been a blessing.

Cons

The on-boarding was a bit rough. Although I may have a special case it was a struggle to stay connected and get updated with notification on what the next steps were after I signed my contract. Eventually it was all figured out but I was quite frustrated with how HR slacked in reaching out to me and having me instead reach out to them.

Pros

Great culture, focused teams, specialists in their respective practice areas, lots of cool swag, unlimited PTO, plenty of visibility and executive exposure... small company (500+ employees) with more technical assessors than Big 4, same quality, and cheaper bill rates!

Cons

Lacks diversity in the workforce, but recruiters and practice leads are actively seeking these candidates

Pros

You will learn A LOT at Coalfire. There is never a shortage of work or new experiences that are outside of your JD. Coalfire is growing up and I'm glad they are cognizant of the fact that their employees are the core of their success. They have made a conscience effort to increase engagement through various programs and committees. My manager is great and there are a lot of great people that you will work with and will grow with.

Cons

Coalfire is a fast-paced environment which can be a pro or a con. In their case, it's a con because the changes and movements feel like they are shooting from the hip. You start to 1) become disillusioned with change 2) forget what's this vs. that 3) recognize that your manager will probably change so don't get too use to them. This company is starting to lose their start up feel and mentality. For a company of 500, they try to function like they are a company of 5,000. There doing so much quickly, but nothing correctly.
