Pros

A great chance to participate in Hunger Games style blood sports against coworkers, as you all scurry to find the next project before you’re booted for being on the bench. Incredible opportunity to learn first hand what happens when a mega corporation outsources most of its employee services and information sources to chatbots. Amazing experiences can be had if you enjoy the magic of having a glowing performance review reduced to a mediocre “lucky you have a job” rating because sales pipeline is week. Out of this world resource for constant emails about meaningless drivel, communication no real or helpful information.

Cons

-Work/Life balance can be a challenge. -You have to see pictures of Ravi Kumar hanging out in Greece and other exotic places while being told the company is cutting costs,

Pros

Good medical, dental, and vision benefits.

Cons

If you are not an Indian male, you are not valued. Everything is focused around being as cheap as possible including a big shift to move jobs to India or bringing Indian employees to the U.S. on VISAs. Most employees are remote and all the company provides is a laptop and cell phone. The turnover of employees who are U.S. citizens in the last three years has been extremely high because of dissatisfaction. The company touts their high level of diversity and inclusion which is very minimal, especially with women in management and technical jobs. It's a male dominated company.

Pros

I had some good-name client projects that helped me accelerate to a higher position /pay in next job.

Cons

I wholeheartedly look back at my career and regret working here. I was desperate for a job and had been looking for 2 months prior to Cognizant. I worked closely with manager, who consistently/daily yelled at me and told me how dumb I was, for every single matter. Other teams members and even some lower levels on client side got similar treatment to different degrees. HR was horrible and their junior made several big mistakes during my onboarding process. I toughed through it, hoping to come out stronger on the other side because my buddies tell me " 1 year in consulting is 2 years elsewhere." Right after I found a higher paying job later I started getting health issues left and right for the first time. I had massive Ptsd in next job and needed to also go to therapy on a weekly basis. I can't emphasize how toxic the culture was. They allow managers to work analysts to the bone and consistently spew negativity and toxicity onto them. The benefits are extremely minimal. Very little perks, minimal vacation days. Worst benefits of all 5 companies I've been at.
