Pros

Solid reputation and a great place to meet all the important players in the field. Conferences can be attended by personnel at no cost. Intimate community of excellent scientist which stimulates flow of ideas

Cons

Salary is definitely not adequate given the geographical location (long island). Intimate community of scientist also stimulates gossip and can be suffocating. Infrastructure of certain buildings and labs is in bad shape.

beautiful place, enough funding, good networking opportunity because there are many meetings every year. close to the city to enjoy city life

Cons

a little bit boring life in long island, only one bar. housing is expensive on long island. the scale is small
