Pros

The job was extremely easy in that you could get by doing the bare minimum

Cons

Where to start. I worked here before covid but obviously was laid off due to the pandemic. The company culture here can best be described as brainwashing, where my 4 week training had me feeling like I worked for Google or Facebook the way the trainers and other employees raved about it. After a few weeks of being there after training I realized that we were totally coaxed into thinking it was the best company in the world to boost morale in a drabby 90s style cube maze call center where everyone makes minimum wage and only incentive to succeed is the steep promise of a potential free trip down the road. These people genuinely believe collette is the best company ever. Which is honestly frightening because the only people saying it were the most overworked and taken advantage of with their workload. This job was also heavily monitored. It felt like big brother. Screens are constantly recorded as well as calls. During pandemic work from home I was scolded for leaving myself set to “unavailable” on the computer/phone system for 90 seconds because I was in the restroom. It felt almost like middle school or high school; good behaviors were rewarded with a little glitter star card like that you’d imagine getting in 4th grade. Cringey. My raise was discussed in a manner that was similar to jobs past except this raise was .50 cents more per hour........ I left work that day rendered speechless. You can do better than this place. Keep interviewing. The Collette team “holiday parties” and even their refreshments at town hall meetings were like a post-church gathering and their team building activities like hot chocolate at Christmastime were so bland and lackluster. Every other company I’ve worked for made the extra but small investment to keep their employees happy with things like more than a crappy vending machine in the kitchen and one drink ticket at the holiday party. The people in this company who will succeed are family members on the exec board and those in outside sales. I have no idea how collette is doing as a company due to the pandemic but there are just far happier places to work where you’ll be treated better and make more money

Not a lot of transparency during pandemic

Pros

The culture used to be great. It’s the reason people stuck around.

Cons

The majority of the company was furloughed during the pandemic, not a lot of clear communication went on with furloughed employees. The company became top heavy once people started coming back from furlough. A lot of employees felt disposable when the company cared more about the consumer than employees.
