Pros

Happy hours were frequent and had quality liquor. Brokers can be generous come holiday time and give cash bonuses.

Cons

Most misogynistic, sexist, homophobic, racist, overall toxic workplace I've ever been in my life. Demanding brokers, unreasonable and intimidating management. Unfair pay for the region. Would not recommend if you are a woman in the workplace, you will be treated like a secretary. This industry is completely unchecked. I witnessed brokers making commission from representing both the buyers and the sellers in transactions and was flabbergasted.

Pros

- They have great on-boarding, goal setting and skill sharing processes in place - They hire a lot of young professionals, which makes it a fun place to work right out of school - The marketing team is very supportive and organized - They provide a yearly education stipend - You might meet lifetime friends while complaining about brokers and management!

Cons

- If you work directly with brokerage expect a rough ride. They (80% of them) cannot work effectively as a team and Colliers does nothing about it. The brokers treat marketing specialists horribly and management ignores it or “talks” with them about it. Nothing changes, and it won’t because the brokers bring in all the money. - They rely on high turnover to keep their marketing budget small. They pretty much only hire recent grads because they can underpay them. - No where to grow to. Don’t expect a promotion or a raise. You really can’t grow your career at this company because there’s no path for advancement. If you ask for it you’ll get the runaround for months. - They used to have a strong culture and invest more in ERGs… but new leadership has put a stop to this kind of spending. The whole company has felt the shift. And it’s not because they are losing money…
