Booster Bucks, Employee Gain Share and Bonus Programs, Summer Hours, Special Employee Sales, On Site Medical, Beautiful corporate office

Cons

Most of the employees have their resumes circulating. Company hired a consultant to analyze and save the company millions of dollars. Instead it will put the company out of business. Bringing in employees from another sinking ship (Lands' End) has also had a negative effect. Expect to see the company sold.

Pros

Privately held, so making profits for the shareholders isn't the only important thing. Generally very good benefits--wellness programs, employee clinic, amazing employee sales (and company scrip to spend at those sales or on outlet or catalog purchases).

Cons

The way the company has expanded over 90 years has made it tough to figure out the hierarchy at times. Longtime managers can be very change-averse, and some won't give workers the freedom to do their jobs well.
