Door to Door sales

Pros

Good training, legitimate opportunity, not a scam. They do treat employees well if you do the work.

Cons

Straight up, this is door to door sales. Dont let any of the managers try to tell you any different. Thats why I left. If I would have been told it was door to door sales in the beginning, I would have walked away right then and there. They try to use words like "canvassing", but it is just door to door sales. And yes combined, there is a difference between canvassing and door to door. In my opinion if a product cant achieve success through drawing customers in, but instead have pushy salesman strong arming people into signing, then the product just isnt worth it. Also, this is a commission only position, which many people like. Being an insurance agent is SUPPOSED to be like running your own business. You decide how/when/where you want to work. Not with Combined. They will tell you when to work. They will also tell you when you need to be on a conference call, when you need to drive for 2 hours to attend a "training" meeting, even though the training could be done on your own time, they just want to see you role play the sales pitch with other agents. All of this without earning any wages, because remember you are commissioned only. And did I mention this is door to door sales? I feel like that is an important fact that is not disclosed up front with this company.

Thank you for taking the time to review our company. We offer a fast-paced and high energy work environment with excellent training to give our agents a great foundation for success. We understand that in-person sales can create a lot of pressure and can be both challenging and rewarding, and it is our hope that having managers involved will help better your chance of success. We are sorry you feel that the meetings you attended were not worth your time, and we would like to have the opportunity to learn from your experience. Please send us additional feedback at feedback@combined.com. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors

Pros

it sounded great, all the potential you could make in sales. they do spend $$ to give you enough knowledge to pass the licensing exam. you get a paid trip to chicago for sales training. the trips and incentives are great if you can make it.

Cons

if you don't live and breathe the company, it'll never be enough for them. we are human, not robots. we do have a life outside of the company. it doesn't seem to matter. i don't need to be told how much other areas are making in sales every week. i also don't need conference calls for not making sales. the calls end up pinpointing the people who are struggling or might have other issues going on in life... but they're MANDATORY if you didn't make a sale, regardless of the reason. does it really matter what my reasons are? if i'm having problems with the job, i should be able to go to my manager and get help. i should be comfortable and have some sort of trust with my manager to get the help. but if you're new, you might not get that kind of treatment.

Thank you for taking the time to review our company. Combined Insurance has an excellent training program, and we are happy you agree that we stand by our agents to assist in passing the licensing exam. Sales is both a challenging and rewarding profession, and we continue to help and support our agents throughout their career to overcome those challenges. We are sorry your expectations for your manager fell short, and we would like the opportunity to improve by learning more about the situation. If you would be so kind as to send additional feedback to feedback@combined.com, we would really appreciate it. We wish you much success in your future endeavors.
