Pros

Comcast had a great starting pay back in 2002. The commission structure has been re evaluated to better compare to other cable companies.

Cons

As I said before, the starting pay in 2002 was great, but since then making maximum yearly merit increases I have gone up by $4. I have worked every aspect of the company it seems from technician in the field to dispatch to everything in between and even with the amount of dedication I have and the knowledge I am not able to move anywhere in the company.

Pros

My colleagues at comcast were some of the best I've ever worked with. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have stayed there as long as I did.

Cons

The work at Comcast was very monotonous and I felt that the hardwork I was putting in wasn't appreciated as much as it should've been.

Pros

Comcast gives its employees free cable and internet and the phone service for a small fee. That is definitely a plus because those are three bills you don't have to worry about paying. Also another thing I liked at Comcast was the paid vacation days you accumulated. It was a very reasonable amount of days I didn't complain about.

Cons

The biggest downside I found working at Comcast was their scheduling process. The people that had been there the longest got first pick on the good schedules. That was totally understandable but when it was time for the newer employees to pick, we got stuck working late evenings and weekends. There has to be a better way to do the scheduling. No one wants to get stuck working late evenings and every weekend especially when you have children or things to do. Another thing I disliked while at Comcast was too many productivity levels and quotas to meet. I understand there has to be some sort of quality assurance but it seemed a little extreme to me. For example there were already specific numbers set in place as fas as how long you should stay on the phone with a customer for a billing issue, how long your hold time should be, and your sales upgrade rate. Every customer's situation is different and there should not be specific numbers to go by. Who knows how long it will take you to take care of that customer and you shouldn't have to worry about specific numbers to abide by.
