Pros

Salaries are competitive and the healthcare benefits are top-notch. The company has made concerted efforts to improve upon DE&I.

Cons

Leadership insists on routinely and continuously gathering feedback then only paying lip service to the good news that adds to their exorbitant bonuses. Decisions are made based on the whims of the top few instead of based off of the professional knowledge of their constituents. A recent call for employees to return to worksite DID NOT meet their promises of advance notice and the timeframe is unreasonable to arrange childcare and other work life balance related decisions. Leadership very sloppily made a hard left turn and blindsided their constituents.

Good but not great

Pros

The team I worked with was friendly. I was always free to make recommendations for implementation strategies or improving code quality and in some cases was able to move forward with these plans. Expectations for promotions were reasonably clear. There were a few colleagues who were great to work with and were knowledgeable in their areas of work.

Cons

On the application I worked on, which was a large one in the organization, the teams did not put enough effort into considering implementation strategies, maintaining code quality, or making code "future proof". The legacy code was absolutely horrible to work with, and while there were initiatives to improve both that and the quality of new code being written, a large portion of the new code written was sloppy and did not follow internally set best practices. After a while it became frustrating to work on new and existing features and I started to lose motivation for writing quality code myself. Many of the people brought on to work on projects did not have the skillsets needed to do the work correctly but were still used, leaving a lot of cleanup work for me and others on the teams.
