Pros

Good benefits, childcare FSA match and student loan payments of $200/month

Cons

Since they fired the CEO and laid off a bunch of staff, they’ve hired a company to help basically figure out the safest cheapest staffing ratios. They’ve cut out cnas from some units almost completely and we’ve lost almost every phleb so now nurses are doing everything. They’re trying to cut corners with staffing to save a few bucks, but the higher ups still got their huge bonus.

Pros

Sense of teamwork with most of the staff. You know what you need to do and you do it. Consistent hours except.

Cons

The big guys make huge money; then you're told they can't afford the cost of living increases. Management makes up tasks that are so ridiculous it could be funny if patients' lives weren't constantly at risk. NO willingness to staff for acuity. Even when we all agreed to help to make it possible. Almost always short of staff. Frequent overtime that you are then yelled at for. So, you work your behind off for 12 hours straight, and because you're trying your best to care for 3-4 of your patients who are very high need, then 2-4 more patients on top of that, you end up being unable to chart till you're off the floor. In the end, it's a 15-hour day if you're lucky, then you get to drive home for 30 minutes and get back up the next day at 5 am to do the very same thing. Over and over.

Pros

Where I am we had great local management and support until about a year ago.

Cons

There was a merger with another large healthcare company and now the management is sub par, lacks any skills and frankly could care less about the company or the employees when they even show up to work.
