If you perform well you get to perform other peoples jobs too. Benefit package, 401, insurance, and ability to flex time is good as well if you have appropriate staffing. Most staff are comfortable where they are and do not want to advance or cross train. In most banks you will struggle for sales/marketing where as their culture is less sale specific and more customer oriented, which is a plus. They have many perks for accounts which makes it more competitive that competition outside. There is constant room to learn if you want to.

Cons

Little pay, little room for advancement. If you ask for advancement you don't get it. The only way to advance is to apply for a job when it opens. Because most people are comfortable in their positions, they don't leave and positions do not open. Very political atmosphere as well as hiring process/applying for internal positions but I suppose political atmosphere is relative as it is in every corporate position anymore. You can go months without getting a call, email, or update on a position you apply for internally. Sometimes, they pull the position entirely. Creating an atomosphere that promotes upper management and leaves the other hard working employees out of the running. Literally will create positions out of no where but if you need to move after several years they won't do it and will allow you to quit/leave because of it.
