Pros

•Great Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 457 Savings Plan & PERS Pension Plan. •Met many wonderful individuals during my time there. •Paid training for Class B (C)ommercial (D)rivers (L)icense. •Injury Free employee maintenance center. •CT has a nice perk for its employees (For the life of me, I forgot the acronym/name). I believe it’s called ESP, (E)moloyee (S)ervices (P)rogram. I’m certain I am wrong about the name, but this is as close as I can get to it. Anyways, it’s a nice package CT has put together for their employees & it includes services/options like: counseling, attorney/legal assistance, substance abuse help/counseling, options/assistance to care for your elderly parent, childcare assistance/services, notary services & a whole bunch of other beneficial services. It’s really a nice, sort of a all-in-one / one-stop shopping program CT created for its employees. •The implementation of newly updated coaches for their fleet (Believe me, it truly makes a difference what coach series you drive). •The food gatherings/events CT puts together for their staff. •Showers at base. •A very handsome salary for a potential Coach Operator to earn during their growth process w/ the company. •At the start of training, you get full medical-dental-vision coverage so you & your family don’t miss a beat on any important health related issues. •Very helpful & informative staff, to help assist & guide you to company related topics or issues. •There is much more, but these were the great & wonderful things I loved about CT during my time there. Like the review title I entered: “Make It Your Own.” It truly boils down to common sense to be frankly honest. A couple little helpful hint here: A) Know when & where to divide lines starting w/ yourself (If you can read between the lines, then you got the general concept). B) If your desire is to become a Coach Operator for Community Transit, do your best to stay fit & active physically & mentally. Especially if you never done this line of work in your life. Keep in mind, the position of Coach Operator is a “SAFETY SENSITIVE” role & I cannot reiterate this enough to any future potential candidate applying for the Coach Operator position for CT. Being a former Coach Operator for CT, myself & many others from my ATU 1576 family faced the ENORMOUS TASK & TREMENDOUSLY HUGE RESPONSIBILITY of transporting “PRICELESS CARGO” around daily for long hours. Just like Berus (The COOLEST & SMOOTHEST trainer EVER!), told me during my training days, “If you follow your training, you will be here for a very long time. I followed Berus’s advice till the day I left CT & I earned the “Safe Driver Award” for 5 years in a row🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 (I was on my way to 6). Best of luck to you all.

Cons

Like my review title reads, “Make It Your Own.” The cons for me have passed, & I am certain many of those Cons still exists, but it really comes down to how you process it. Bottom line is, despite the Cons I had, CT was great to me & I am very grateful & very thankful for the wonderful opportunity Community Transit provided for me during my time there. You future potential Coach Operators can achieve the same results, but it will all depend on your attitude toward many challenges. Hope this helps.

Pros

Get to work with the public, good pay, good benefits, my team of coworkers are like family and treat each other with respect. I feel like my input is heard and matters for the most part.

Cons

Can be high stress and communication between departments is often a pain in the a** especially with Transportation, often condescending and dismissive.

Pros

Pay, healthcare, retirement, easy to access over-time

Cons

Terrible hours for full or part-time. Full-time has to cover split shift work for up to 19hrs and part-time may cover 15hrs. System operates well outside the DOT limits of other states. Coach operators health begins an immediate decline upon full-time work because of the split work. Management says it all about the well being of the operator but management makes no effort to change staffing. A weak transportation union. Management slow to respond to employee issues. Poor HR/hiring staff that sells the job but operations executes differently causing rapid turn over. They brag about about a gym for health and fitness but its located in another building where management can access it.
