Horribly managed and very inept leadership

Pros

Only pro I can think of was that onboarding was fast and simple

Cons

I need to be frank about the management at Commure. It was really disorganized and from day 1 I had the sense that I was basically left to my own to perform and show value through my work My manager rarely made time with me, and instead checked up on me really irregularly (I had to initiate all the meetings with him), expecting me to get things done the next day w/o any prior notice of priorities In addition, I felt like there was no talk with him about my strengths and how I could leverage them. Essentially, my manager just made the rash decision to fire me 6 days after we had a regular 1-1 on my work. Total shock, especially as I had wanted to talk to him about I could use my personal strengths better, and never got a chance to do that as a result of his rash decision to just let me go. I'd say, Commure's focus on SPEED above all else is NOT for people who want to take quality and their career growth seriously. Like basically, I got the impression that unless you delivered 100% perfect work in days under whatever costs, only then would you be appreciated by the leadership. I certainly got no recognition from my team and definitely not from my manager who was constantly looking for speed AND quality all at the same time. The sad thing is, my manager said that a developer should have empathy for the customer when thinking through how to design and develop a solution. While I agree with that statement, I was not shown any of this empathy from the management team, which only asked me like a vending machine to deliver 100% perfect solutions in unreasonably short time frames.

Pros

Remote work Provided Apple laptop

Cons

No room for growth. There was no discussion at all about career advancement or even career ladder's in place. They we're heading towards moving most of the Finance team (those of IC in nature) to cheaper labor with Bangladesh workers. There was no connection at all with them as human beings. Basically like robots that only cared about their 60-70 hour work weeks. Benefit's were so/so for a Healthtech startup. No 401k match, no wellness benefits, short paternity leave. The standard startup offering of "unlimited PTO" but I'd be surprised if anyone took more than 2 weeks off a year there. Product's like Strongline (transitioning out due to legal issues), Patientkeeper (25+ year old system with no updates and really on the outs as EPIC is the premier product) and AugMedix (a company bought that even Augmedix employees were surprised they bought a declining product). There's going to be a lot of acquisition's as the products they have are not top tier quality.
