Pros

Challenging job role, first hand look into some of the latest technologies, for example cloud computing, de-duplication, and a lot of proprietary technology which cannot be posted on a public forum.

Cons

The new management has started strangling the work environment making it very difficult to work with your full concentration and capacity. With the introduction of a global queue of support, unrealistic and irrelevant performance level comparisons with different GEO's are being made. Classic case of comparing apples to oranges. The engineers in US work in a direct support model as compared to the partner based structure in EMEA. The annual appraisal form does not contain the benchmarks against which the employees are being accessed; they are no longer accessed based on their experience level or their technical competency but based on the region they belong to, which community are they from etc. What matters most is whether you share the same surname with the senior management or are you a buddy of the manager, whether you used to work with him in your previous job. Knowledge transfer between different members of the team is no longer done. Trainers hired to conduct in-house training for the employees in order to keep pace with the upcoming technologies are in-competent and are hired only because they are pals of one of the senior managers. The trainers credentials are not even checked before hiring them. Before joining the organization, employees are promised 250 RSU's per engineer, and it is also mentioned in their offer letter. However, after a month, they are told that they will get only 50 RSU over a span of 4 years. This has happened with 5 different engineers in the India Development Center.

Pros

Great organization to work for overall but few conditions.

Cons

After the new India Director took charge of the Customer Success Management (CSM) team at Commvault, the work environment has seen a significant decline. What was once a collaborative and relatively transparent culture has shifted into a toxic, micromanaged atmosphere that prioritizes control over trust. Team morale has plummeted due to the Director’s leadership style, which many employees perceive as authoritarian and unsupportive. Constructive feedback is often dismissed, and dissenting voices are silenced rather than acknowledged. This has created a culture of fear, where employees are more focused on avoiding conflict than doing their best work. Talented team members are actively looking for opportunities elsewhere. The lack of psychological safety, unclear strategic direction, and favoritism have become major concerns. There is also a noticeable disconnect between upper management and the ground realities faced by the team.

Pros

- Company is growing and there can be multiple opportunities in the future - Food is decent and WFH flexibility is given

Cons

- Work pressure in Support team can literally get you frustrated and impact your mental health - The lady Associate Manager in Client Support team absolutely does no work and only knows how to assign cases without even bothering if the engineers are choked - A lot of politics when it comes to internal movements which already is not a streamlined process, they purposely delay approvals so employees miss out on opportunities - Favoritism at its peak and tenured employees are not given their due recognition - Will definitely not recommend anyone to get into the Support team of Commvault
