Pros

PTO and sick time are good(unlimited PTO\Sick time is not for support) and weekend Overtime is always available

Cons

*0 work-life balance *nothing is secret here. Everyone talks *all management cares about is the numbers on paper *Not allowed to take lunches if calls are going to breach SLA(if they need a call in under 1 hour) due to outsourcing and laying off staff with 0 effort to hire more engineers calls are always negative SLA or under an hour. You are considered lucky if you take 1 lunch every 2 weeks. *Management regularly ignores SOP to make stats look better *Work late every day with 0 compensation and in some cases logging in early just to catch up from the day before. *Multiple engineers quitting mid-shift due to stress. Multiple engineers having mental breakdowns or panic attacks and health issues from stress *Support teams are required to know vast portions of the software and all supported Operating systems, hypervisors, and cloud vendors with very little training. *small amount of training available and you have no time to take them due to call volume *Outsourcing to India. Techs are not properly trained or in some cases not qualified and turn a quick fix into a weeks-long problem. *Documentation is terrible and by far the worst of an enterprise backup software *Recently adopted the "swarm" model and management exact words are we just need warm bodies to cover the calls. * Most engineers are talking about quitting and have had enough of their "taking blood from a stone" mentality If you like getting mediocre raises, having 0 work-life balance, watching fellow co-workers break down crying, or just quitting mid-shift, and hating your life knowing you need to wake up in the morning for another dose of HE*L then this is the job for you. For the rest of you stay FAR FAR FAR away from this place. For some of you, that think it can't be that bad or this is only temporary you would be very wrong. This toxic work environment started well before covid and continues to get worse with no end in sight. Sanjay may have brought change and high stock prices but he and his "Yes Men" also brought the downfall of support and development which was once the highlight of commvault providing industry-leading support. But hey if I had thousands of shares of CVLT I would probably only care about stock prices too.

Pros

1. Paid very fairly at the start. 2. Engineering/development team here is top-notch and better than most tech companies. 3. Founding execs finally brought in new leadership to replace themselves. 4. Have been known to willingly seek outside talent in key areas. 5. If you are politically savvy (and don't mind politicking as a core part of your work), you can progress your career here. 6. Talk the right talk regarding HR capabilities and opportunities; you do feel they care.

Cons

1. Small company trying to grow up, so they trust who they know to attempt to learn completely new roles rather than listening to outside expertise they've hired (hired presumably for that expertise). 2. Sometimes take action without consultation or thinking things through: e.g. changed multiple components of pay structure in parallel and decimated the talent pool. 3. Really need skilled and experienced product management talent (to match with their top-notch eng/dev team) and somehow don't want to acknowledge this; the approach of having eng/dev responsible for all product decisions (like when you were a startup) is unreasonable and not working. 4. Have to be on the "inside" to get any pay raise after joining; they will definitely screw you out of subjective bonus payments. 5. Struggled for years to break $1B in revenue but don't really have the leadership (yet) who know how to do so.

Pros

The backup products are mature and stable

Cons

Leadership and vision are non existent. Does not feel like an innovative technology company in any sense.
