Pros

Schedule your own clients, no questions asked when using PTO, flexible hours and work week.

Cons

Uncapped case loads, pressure to have max length appointments, pressured to have clients scheduled back to back with only minimal time for documentation and case management. You will always feel behind and be playing catch up.

Individual managers makes it possible to stay. Some room for advancement. Clientele is wonderful (although not easy). You learn so much working in community mental health.

Cons

Low pay, higher turnover need better support from upper management, too focused on liability which interferes with client care at times.
