Pros

Compass treats agents like they are their #1 client. It seems so simple, yet I had to wonder why other firms just don't get it. Management is constantly asking what tools, technology, programs and offerings would make our job (even our lives) smarter, better and more successful. The culture is unlike anything I've ever experienced. They strive to elevate the role of real estate agent to a higher ethical standard. I came to Compass almost 4 years ago when I watched many top agents in the industry make the move. I wanted to be at the same firm as the agents I most respected. It was the best move I ever made. I've watched many agents come over to Compass and get reinvigorated. Change can be a little scary, but real growth happens when you push yourself.

Cons

I don't know if it's a con, necessarily, but Compass has the best and brightest tech & product people out there. They move FAST. The amount of amazing tools that constantly get rolled out is sometimes hard to keep up with. But I'd certainly rather have more tools than less.

Pros

The internal creative team is amazing, they're all super talented and close knit. I got lots of support from my direct manager and fellow designers the entirety of my time there.

Cons

The company is still relatively young, and there's a lot of scrappiness. When I was there we relocated 4 times within a year (but if you're ok with the scrappy startup feel, then it won't be a problem). It should also be noted that working with real estate agents can be tough. Some of them are very headstrong, picky, inflexible, and at times, blatantly rude. There are many instances where you'll be art directed by a real estate agent or someone on marketing, and not have much room for pushback. During my time there I was also surprised by how little we got to design for the Compass brand itself, most of the brand design comes out of the NYC creative team. The regional creative teams are more focused on supporting the agent design needs.
