Pros

The staff I worked with was awesome but completely overworked. PTO was very fair but you lose all of it when you give your notice.

Cons

This is by far the most greedy, unfair company in the industry. Employees are treated like drones and robots who are expected to produce under unrealistic expectations. Hospice Compassus is only worried about the bottom line and could care less about employees as they are expendable and they are happy to let you know that. They are constantly on you with the threat of letting you go even when you haven't had a chance to build your territory. There is one employee in particular who should have a lawsuit brought against her for bullying other employees. Very negative work environment and people from management to CNA"s unhappy with their jobs. This is nationwide as well with unhappy employees from sales directors to social workers.

Pros

Decent pay and PTO. Most teammates are patient-focused and delightful to be around.

Cons

Care is not patient-centered; company will waste entire benefit period for patients who want to back out of admission immediately after signing on (other agencies will just eat the cost of sending the admit nurse for a single appointment). Care kits are not automatically ordered for new admits so home patients frequently go into preventable pain crises. Office environments are toxic and dysfunctional, despite how wonderful most of the field staff are. Little to no training for management on how to be genuine leaders so they rely on control and domination rather than influence. I witnessed some concerning (and on one or two occasions, illegal) behavior by my branch's management. Upon separation from the company, corporate will cancel your benefits the minute you walk out the door (instead of paying thru the end of the month like the majority of others -- further, you will not be offered an exit interview for their separation policies to be explained so you just find out later). They only pay out PTO in states that legally mandate it.

Pros

I cannot think of one single thing except that the nurse case managers and other team members are very good people and kind people but the management and the corporate management are terrible

Cons

They lie. And they lie all the time. They are not consistent, they are very poor managers. They promised a retention bonus and then fired a nurse 3 weeks before it was due to be paid after they had hired two people she had recommended and had then their staffs fully on board. Completely lied to her. Kept her PTO time which was almost 100 hours. Upper management at this company are completely reprehensible. They do not back you up. They lie to your face. And they don't know what they're doing.
