Pros

Small company, nice co-workers, flexible schedule, great corporate office location.

Cons

Lots of upper management turnover. Don't speak up with ideas because it will get you on a short list to be removed. Company wastes lots of money. Management doesn't care about the advancement or future of the people who do the work.

Pros

- Nice EMR and charting system - Some great individuals work at lower level office or in direct Pt care...they need to work for a place that is worth of their efforts

Cons

- "leadership" is sorely lacking - "group think" rules the Denver/Loveland office - "leadership" (actually, it's management who fancies themselves as leaders) is indifferent to anyone else's opinion...very autocratic

Pros

It's possible it could have been worse.

Cons

My old company was taken over by Compassus two years ago. Soon my work load began to rise. Though not all at once. Within a year though it was about twice what it had been before the buyout. Unrealistic corporate policies were implemented and forced on employees without consideration of how they'd impact their work/home life balance. These expectations meant I was working harder than ever before - for the same pay! - but was still getting pushed to meet the ever rising demands made by corporate on their field staff. As a field HH nurse Compassus has a "points" system where you are given points per category of visit. A simple visit that took twenty or thirty minutes got you one point. More complicated visits rose correspondingly, though not proportionally. A start of care that might take four hours total would only get two and a half points. In my case I was expected to get thirty! points in . only . three . days. Realizing things weren't going to get better, only worse, I submitted my resignation. I then discovered Compassus had one more surprise in store for me: they'd quietly initiated a policy where you had to give them THIRTY days notice before leaving. I can't put into words what a relief it is not to have to deal with their crap anymore.
