      I worked for Hospice Compassus and they lack the values that they profess.

      Pros

      Excellent frontline clinical staff who exhibit the values espoused by Hospice Compassus---Integrity, Compassion, and Excellence. Also the company is very expert at complying with Medicare regulations.

      Cons

      Everything is driven by the bottom-line; do not be manipulated into thinking otherwise. Clinical staff is NOT supported to take care of themselves. Full time RNs are asked to cover on-call when the census is high, then asked to cut hours when the census is low. They are are FOR PROFIT---period. They are not really about serving communities or patients. Also, current health insurance plan for employees is terrible--it is basically a high deductible, catastrophic policy.

      Cold corporate culture that focuses only bottom line

      Pros

      Good vacation benefits, but use them or loose them employees are not paid for time accumulated when leaving.

      Cons

      Catastrophic health plan with 3000.00 deductible. The corporate structure is such that there is constant movement of regional overseers and a high employee turnover.

      Pros

      Clinical team does good job and truly cares for patients. PTO accrual is more than generous. Industry, as a whole, does a good thing for those in need.

      Cons

      Little training. Regional Sales Manager rarely present, and when he did decide to show up, was largely inadequate and brought no value. They say that census numbers don't drive business decisions...they lie.
