It was good once

Pros

When I first started working there, it was a good place to work. Managers and fellow employees were for the most part friendly and helpful. When a contract ended, they would pull together to find another place for us.

Cons

Upper management in Dallas has not gotten any new contracts for the Houston area, so the opportunities for staying with the company are dwindling. Also, many of the employees who have been with the company many years were offered the choice of severance pay or a drastic(15% in some cases) cut in pay.

Pros

Company paid Training/Certifications and paid time off.

Cons

No annual raises or cost of living allowance for 5 years and counting, period. No reason or explanation offered by management for not giving COLA. Poor mileage reimbursement for personal automobile use. Drug free work place policy is not enforced. (seriously)

Not as great as expected

Pros

Lots of different positions to choose from initially

Cons

There are no staff development to promote employees. Employees get stuck or choose to stay in remedial positions because management does't try to push them to better themselves or they seem to scared to want more from a company that they put 5,10,15+ years into. People with ideals are not nurtured to change/challenge stagnant status quo. Management is promoted but the actual "ground workers" are left behind.
