Pros

Having read a number of reviews, I have to say I agree with a number of them. I started work at CC as an SDM and at the time Managed Services was in its infancy. I have worked with a number of people I respect and have assisted me in my career path. However, you do have to use your initiative to move around and speak to people about opportunities. I had a number of different roles that built up my exposure and understanding of various different technologies. Being a non-techie, this helped enormously. Unless you are in an Ops role, you are allowed to get on with the job rather than have someone sitting on your shoulder

Cons

There are a few, unfortunately! :-( When I started the salary was good, but you will only get punitive pay rises and what will upset you is when someone comes in at a peer level or higher, who may have the same skills, or less, than you and do not know the company and their salary is £5k or more than yours. To address this, you have to move around. Unfortunately, some management think it is a badge of honour, or like me are naïve, to keep any salary increase to a minimum. The normal mantra is, "they won't sign off any more than 5%". This is rubbish! I fell out with a Manager, who I respect, for about a week when I wanted to transfer someone into my team and didn't think it would be approved because of the 5% mantra. To transfer them would have been about a 15% increase. He told me that as long as it was within the banding, it would be approved. Guess what, I was able to transfer the individual because the 5% is a myth, dependent on the manager you are working for. I agree that quite often you will see people who should not be doing a role get promotion because of who they know, not what they know. Part of the reason why I left was because I could see no further career progression with a salary to commensurate. Why take on more work with little or no reward. The comments regarding Mike's Friday e-mail made me chuckle. Whilst I appreciate Mike will entertain Customers at a top restaurant and I would entertain at the local, they were, on occasions, patronising. But, CC is looking quite healthy at the moment.

Pros

Great potential for professional development, provided you work in the right department and under the right management.

Cons

Lack of appreciation for hard working employees. Double standards. Popularity with management wins over actual efficiency and performances, making the company's 'Behaviours' values redundant.
