CTC is nothing like the company it was just a few years ago. A lot of the staff who gave the company credibility have left, and much of the physical infrastructure is now gone. It's really just a shell of the company it was. From the outside you would never see that, in fact the PR spin runs full time in the company. To anyone who does not peel the first layer off the onion the company looks not only healthy but positively thriving. Not even close to reality.
The CEO and CFO appear to be existing in some alternative reality, and neither are remotely qualified to be in leadership positions. When the company was being fed by earmarks it was easy to manage the company because the congressional machine kept the dollars flowing in. Those days are done and the company has to be competitive. The lack of ability to develop real strategies to compete in a tough DoD contractor environment means the end of CTC. Apparently no one has the courage to stand up to the C-Staff and tell them they are driving the bus off a cliff, because the bus just keeps heading toward the edge. At a certain point it becomes impossible to keep the bus from going over the edge, and I think most of the employees think that point has already been reached. It's not that CTC will cease to exist, but it will just be another contractor who can't get it's act together and will just slowly dissolve into oblivion. However you can bet the C-Staff will be milking the slow death for all it is worth in big pay, company cars, and extravagant off-site excursions. If they could only hear the conversations in the offices and hallways they would understand that not only are they not respected, but there is a growing resentment of their ineffective management and self-serving mentality.
I've been with the company for over 10 years, and have climbed the ladder to a mid-level management position. In that time I've watched they company I've dedicated my time, my families time, and all my efforts to become less and less effective, with more and more bloated and arrogant leadership.
If you come to work for CTC don't expect it to be a long relationship or a very fulfilling one. At one time it would have looked good on your resume, but not now. I spend a lot of time in DC working with other contractors and CTC has become a laughing stock to a lot of Beltway firms, and that does not translate well into a resume. If you need a job and just can't find anything else then CTC is a much better alternative to unemployment. If you have career aspirations don't stop here. If you want job fulfillment don't stop here. If you want good credentials for your resume don't stop here. If you just don't care then stop here because CTC leadership just doesn't care either.
I am looking for a job. I refuse to have my talents used by what I consider the most ineffectual management team I have ever encountered.
