Pros

To gain experience in publishing its a great place to work. Lots of smart interesting people there. I'm always proud of saying I worked at Wired

Cons

In the IT dept its hard to move up. Mgmt is hit and miss and you really need to be based out of NYC to get a leg up

Pros

Opportunity to work for instantly recognizable magazine brands. Good for the resume.

Cons

Upward mobility virtually nonexistent. Remarkable lack of collegiality among coworkers; unnecessary culture of mean-spiritedness.

Pros

- Great learning experiences - Come to understand ins and outs of all areas of the business - Still some good management in there but for the most part

Cons

- Overworked (*severely*) - Underpaid - Underappreciated - The lower level workers do all the work while their bosses get all the credit and rain hellfire on their subordinates when something goes wrong
