Pros

the glitz factor. free stuff. always knowing where the good sample sales are. interesting people.

Cons

Hearing about "downsizing" when senior management is still playing Louis 14th with their freebie cars, houses, clothes, trips, and meals. Knowing that the higher you go in management the more free stuff you get, and yet the more money you get. No one seems to notice that this is a little backwards.

Pros

The name opens up a lot of doors for you. It's a prestigious place to work and people don't let you forget it

Cons

People are also pretty snobby and there is tension and ridiculous politics between all of the magazines and corporate.

Pros

Challenging work -- ideal for young, up-and-coming journalists to get their feet wet. Brilliant editors who double as mentors. Delicious, healthy breakfast and lunch prepared by the company's private chefs make for great brain fuel.

Cons

Worst IT policies in the history of publishing. Overprotecting the company's precious "secrets" only obstructs employees from getting their jobs done in an efficient manner.
