Pros

- industry stature (debatable at this point; conde has faced several public and embarrassing set backs in the last 2 years) - impressive name to have on resume - great for networking if you have a strong enough personality to make an impression - chance to work with great brands and advertisers - there are extremely creative and hardworking people in entry and mid level positions - beautiful offices with good amenities; good benefits

Cons

- old school management style that was too slow to adopt to digital which has caused the company major setbacks - in the 1.5 years, conde underwent three massive rounds of "restructuring" and layoffs - no job security or confidence in upper management, everyone is walking around on eggshells - revolving door of publishers / EICs who are all starting to jump ship - entry level are treated like punching bags and denied over time, but expected to work over 40 hours a week - senior level management is cold and standoffish, often inappropriate and unprofessional - HR at this company is a joke; they turn a blind eye to senior management's borderline fireable offenses and repeatedly ignore attempts to get in contact - upper management wastes company funds on lavish meals, gifts, beauty treatments, and personal items - you have to develop a thick skin to survive the yelling, name calling, and temper tantrums that are every day occurrences - there is a noticeable shift in morale; you can tell people are unhappy working here

Pros

Having Conde Nast or one of the publication names on your resume looks great. Smart colleagues overall. Cafeteria in the building is a bonus since taking a real lunch break is frowned upon.

Cons

Long hours and no consideration for employees personal lives or work/life balance. Benefits presented in employment offer were taken away or restricted after I began. Perks are few and far between on the marketing side (you're at the bottom of the pecking order).

Pros

Great resources, perks and talent. You will learn at this company and gain valuable experience. There are also great perks like paid parking, upscale office space and discounts. Summer Fridays are nice too.

Cons

You better have friends on your side because co-workers on your team could gang up on you and get you fired. I've seen it happen many times there. Also, depending on who you work for, you better be prepared to give more of your personal time to your job. You will always be working, and you will carry your job stress with you 24/7. They are struggling with digital, and they don't seem to know how to properly train salespeople. It's not a bad place to work for a couple of years, but make sure you have friends on your management staff because eventually they could turn against you in an ugly way.
