Pros

The environment is fast paced and ever changing, allowing for lots of cross departmental collaboration and learning opportunities. The perks and benefits, especially when under the WeWork umbrella were amazing.

Cons

Lack of diversity is downright appalling. And even more so is the lack of interest in fixing or even seeing this issue. The CEO’s idea of diversity is hiring a rap artist to entertain his employees after meeting their quota. That’s just the beginning of a very serious issue that has been detrimental to many POC’s success and longevity with the company. Exec level leadership can be divisive and deceitful. Favoritism runs rampant, placing inexperienced people in positions they have no business being. There's a fear amongst employees causing lots of distrust, even among teammates. This is leading the company down a toxic path and they’re losing their best people over it. The company claims to be People First, but HR leadership is a part of the toxicity and can't be trusted. They seemed to have gotten rid of those who really stood up for the people.

Leadership in over their heads

Pros

Good people; opportunity for advancement;

Cons

A lot of the functional leaders are legacy Conductors who don't have the experience or strategic sense to scale the company at the pace they desire. Company-wide presentations seem almost amateurish, and the cracks are starting to show.

People-first fallacy, inexperienced management

Pros

Fun young company, happy hours are considered a benefit. Unlimited PTO, but good luck being able to take more than a single day. The people are great and try to take care of each-other throughout the company’s turbulence.

Cons

Conductor is a shell of its prior “Customer first, People first” company. I’ve been at the company for over two years and have watched the company and management’s decisions get worse Year over year. Since the spinoff from WeWork they’ve taken advantage of their younger staff and work them like dogs without proper compensation. This is all because a number of folks quit, there were lay offs and they refuse to backfill. There’s a difference between working harder through tough times and completely taking advantage of your people.Management doesn’t want to acknowledge the feedback about lack of bandwidth because that means they’ll have to spend money they don’t have. Sales has way too much influence on the business. The CEO is personally a great guy but needs to hire a proper C-suite to make the business decisions before the company is driven into the ground. The company itself is having an identity crisis of whether its a technology platform or an agency which is at the crux of their problems.
