Pros

Work in a friendly, fun environment with great team members and leaders. Constant training and skill building exercises. Freedom to make decisions on how to grow your product line and increase vendor funding. Company funded events and outings are a blast. Team contests with cool prizes.

Cons

In product management it can be difficult at times to hit goals and for larger product lines it can be difficult to have a major impact on your bonus. That being said when the line is doing well the bonuses can be very profitable. Aditionally, reporting tools and customer tracking systems are outdated.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us your thoughts. We are glad to hear your overall experience has been positive at PC Connection. As you may be aware, we are evaluating different alternatives to improve our systems and reporting capabilities. We support and recommend that you speak directly with Jeff Sheahan to discuss your thoughts of possible short term alternatives for improved reporting.

Condescending, horrific experience

Pros

Some of the people you work with are really awesome and fun, showcases can be entertaining, good for people who pretty much have no lives and all they want to do is work to further their career.

Cons

Management showed a total lack of respect and no appreciation for work put in. Micromanaging is enough to drive someone mad, especially if their manager dials in remotely. Expectations are unrealistic, and they are not flexible. Even as salary, you have to clock in and clock out. Extremely outdated business model and poverty line pay for the industry. Rigid environment, extremely right wing. Feels more like you are on a nanny cam while at work than anything else. Not understanding of work-life balance unless you are high enough in the totem pole, otherwise you are considered disposable. I have never felt so demoralized in my life but I kept at it with a smile on my face to provide for my family. I would never in a million years recommend someone work here.

We don't believe that this employee's experience is typical of what the vast majority of employees currently working here would say. We continuously hear how people speak glowingly of the culture and the company's approach to fostering a work environment where all employees are valued.

Up For Sale?

Pros

- Reasonable salary - Good benefits - 30 year legacy - Significantly large and diverse customer base - Loyal customers - US based company (no outsourced or offshore workforce)

Cons

- Antiquated IT infrastructure PCC can sell anything to modernize your data center, but they won't upgrade theirs - Marketing is out of control: Marketing the company as a National Solution Provider is very misleading. This company has very few W-2 resources and subs service delivery work to every mom-n-pop shop that can spell I.T. and fog a mirror. Don't expect PCC resources to being doing the work you're paying for. - Lack of leadership Encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit is one thing, but management is ad-hoc at best unless your in sales...then you can't do anything right even though they don't provide the tools to the get the job done

As you indicate we do provide a good compensation and benefit program for employees. And, as you stated our significant and diverse customer base has provided PCC to grow steadily over the years and has been a stabilizing employer in NH while many other firms have relocated or down sized. We use primarily our own employees and not third parties, as you mention, to provide solutions and services to our customers; our investment continues down this path. We look for ways to continue to expand our Solutions offerings and promote this as we transform our business. It is truly an exciting journey filled with opportunities and challenges for people who thrive in that environment. Our management team continues to look for ways to grow profitably and make the right investments. Any other interpretations to this strategy of prudent fiscal management are not founded in fact.
