Cons

There are several draw backs of this company, but I think that they are nothing unusual for corporate America: Some poor managers Easy to get lost in the crowd Way too much politics in promotion decisions

Pros

Of the O&G majors, ConocoPhillips has a good corporate image. The benefits for its employees are somewhat generous. They give a lot back to their local communities through volunteer programs and is committed to being a good corporate citizen.

Cons

Very difficult to move up within the company. There is a problem with the aging workforce but instead of hiring experienced into positions to grow them, ConocoPhillips would prefer to hire college graduates and put them in positions that they are grossly underqualifed for.

Good benefits, excellent pay. Work schedule leaves a lot of time for balance with personal life. Opportunities for promotion early in your career.

Cons

Opaque management style. Occasionally required to work long hours and in physically demanding conditions. A lot of paperwork is required to get work done.
