      Great company that just "gets it"

      Pros

      The people are top notch, they really live their values and the culture. The work always seems interesing, always something new. There is a ton of training and development, many outside work acitivities and opportunity to advance, no matter where you start.

      Cons

      The hours are not a "con," they are part of the whole industry. A reality for construction.

      Some good people in the local DC office

      Cons

      Pay is below average (135k/year), Benefits are below average, Very little bonus (less than 5k for a senior PM who excelled at job). Company is ran from Massachusetts office (main) and has a team full of people in the main Mass. Office whose entire job is to constantly nag people in the DC office for not following procedures. The Mass. office has no clue about the DC market but wants to pick subcontractors for every project based on price without knowing anything about DC sub market. The Mass. office buys out the jobs with central purchasing and hands over a mess on every job. The following of procedures is more important to the main office than getting the jobs done and making money.
