Pros

Good culture and great co workers. My manager was fun and helped me grow and develop. independent and free thinking culture. Car allowance and phone allowance were nice perks. Travel for meetings and dinner with upper management makes you feel important.

Cons

Salary is about $15,000 below market rate. When you get promoted to Credit Manager you have to relocate. It takes time to get paid what you are worth through the profit sharing philosophy. Base pay does not increase. Some older employees are slow and not able to adapt to change.

Thank you very much for taking the time to send us your feedback. The Profit Sharing model that CED utilizes is something we take great pride in. Profit Sharing is a dynamic mechanism that enables CED to reward every eligible employees for their performance, regardless of tenure. As you mentioned, many of our employees have been with us for a long time, and lots of them attribute their loyalty to the feeling of independence and empowerment that Profit Sharing provides. It is especially inspiring to hear our most talented managers talk about the impact that Profit Sharing has had in their personal lives. We are an equal opportunity employer and do not make employment decisions based on age or any other protected characteristic. We do recognize that our 2-3 year training program is a significant commitment for any candidate and we admit that management trainees will not achieve their full compensation potential until their training is complete, once and they have begun to demonstrate their skills as a manager running a Profit Center or Credit Office. However, our investment of time and coaching in each Management Trainee is an enormous value in and of itself. Many find themselves fortunate to have had their management skills carefully cultivated by our company’s time tested training program. We we will take your feedback into consideration. We wish you the best of luck in your career, and we hope that the Credit Management skills that you gained through CED’s training program will serve you well in all your future endeavors.

Great people with a few cons

Pros

The people you will work with are truly awesome, salt of the earth people. They'll help you out every step of the way. Benefits are decent but the high deductible medical plan sucks.

Cons

The company is stuck in the dark ages in terms of technology, pay, and sales tactics. Don't let profit sharing fool you, it's taxed at a supplementary rate which is much higher and it comes one time a year. They don't really take into account where you live. The salary could be the same in Mississippi or Southern California, even though it costs substantially more to live in Socal.

Pros

none come to mind at all

Cons

old fashioned, out of date procedures, micromanagers, no personal growth, no personal empowerment, not a place for thinking outside the box, stagnant policies, rigid and regimented, they should hire robots, not people that think, would not recommend this place to anyone

I am sorry to hear about your experience with our company. I can tell you that your experience is not the norm. With the decentralized business, it is hard to ensure that we have a completely consistent experience across the board, but what we hope is that the managers will inspire individuals to think outside the box and come up with solutions to complex problems that we may have not seen as problems in the past. I wish you luck in all of your future endeavors and thank you for your honest feedback.
